DEEP COMMUNITY OUTREACH & GROWTH STARTS WITH FAMILY
What began as a focused effort in the Marina Vista and Alder Grove communities has grown into a city-wide initiative. Our twice-monthly group mentoring sessions, which bring together parents and youth over full-course meals prepared by local chefs, are a cornerstone of our commitment to building trust and fostering strong family and community bonds.
SPORTS AS A TOOL FOR CHANGE:
KINGS & QUEENS RISE CO-ED BASKETBALL LEAGUE
As leaders of the Kings and Queens Rise Basketball League, we do more than teach the game. We use sports as a powerful tool to prevent third-party homicide and build positive, lasting relationships between youth from different neighborhoods, creating a safer and more connected Sacramento for everyone.
EMPOWERMENT THROUGH KNOWLEDGE
We equip our youth with the knowledge to navigate a complex world. Our essential workshops on racial inequity, financial literacy, and college readiness provide practical skills and foster critical conversations, preparing participants for a successful future.
BUILDING A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY
In collaboration with residents and the city of Sacramento, we manage a large community garden that serves as a living classroom. This initiative teaches the importance of sustainable living and healthy food choices, empowering our community to grow together.
PARTNERSHIPS FOR SAFETY
We believe we are stronger together. In collaboration with the Sacramento City Unified School District and other city agencies, we work tirelessly to increase the safety and security of families across Sacramento. Together, we create a network of support that protects and uplifts our youth and families.
